What digitalshul.com stores in your browser, which third-party services are embedded in these pages, and how to control all of it.

We do not run advertising or profiling scripts on digitalshul.com. There is no advertising pixel here, we do not build a profile of you, and we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising.
We do use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are read, and the live zmanim panel on the home page looks up your approximate location so it can show the right times. Both are described below, with what they store and how to switch them off.
Five third-party services are embedded in the pages, and they may set cookies or store data in your browser when the page loads or when you interact with them. They are listed below.
A cookie is a small text file that a website stores in your browser. It can be used to keep a site working correctly, to remember a preference, to measure how a site is used, or to build a profile for advertising. “Cookies” in this policy also covers similar technologies such as local storage.
Every page on this website is a static page. There is nothing to log into, and we set no cookies of our own. The live zmanim panel on the home page saves two small preferences in your browser’s local storage, so that it does not have to ask again on your next visit:

Neither of these ever leaves your browser. They are not sent to us, they are not readable by any other website, and they contain nothing that identifies you. If your browser blocks local storage the panel still works — it simply asks again next time.
The zmanim themselves are calculated inside your browser. No request is made to us to work out the times, and we never learn which location you looked at.

The live zmanim panel on the home page | Turns your IP address into an approximate city, so the panel can show zmanim for roughly where you are instead of a default city. We do not control what these providers do with the data they receive. Their own policies apply: Google Privacy Policy and Google’s use of cookies.
Our pages link out to WhatsApp, LinkedIn and Facebook. Those are ordinary links: nothing is loaded from those services while you are on our site, and no cookie is set until you follow the link. Once you do, that service’s own policy applies.
This policy is about the website. The display installed in a synagogue does not identify, count or track the people who look at it. It has no camera, no microphone and no sensor of any kind. Advertising shown on it is selected by geographic area and community relevance, never by anything about an individual viewer.
You can delete cookies already stored in your browser and set your browser to block or warn you about new ones. Every major browser offers these controls in its settings, usually under “Privacy” or “Site data”. Blocking cookies will not stop this website from working; at most, the embedded video or form may behave differently.
Most browsers also offer a “Do Not Track” or Global Privacy Control signal. Because we do not track you, there is nothing here for those signals to switch off.
If you would rather it did not look up where you are: block get.geojs.io and ipwho.is in your browser or ad blocker, and the panel will fall back to your time zone. To clear a city you picked, clear this site’s data in your browser settings. The panel never asks for GPS on its own — only if you press the button.
The times are approximate, because the location is approximate. They follow the opinions of the Baal HaTanya, as used by Chabad. They are there to show what a DigitalShul screen does, and are not meant to be relied on for halachic practice — for that, use the times your own shul publishes.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, to receive a copy of it, to have it corrected, to have it deleted, and to object to certain uses of it. This includes rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended, and under the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation.
The personal information we hold is generally limited to what you send us yourself: your name, congregation, email address, telephone number and delivery address. We do not sell it, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. To exercise any of these rights, write to us at the address below and we will respond within the time the applicable law allows.
If we add a service to this website that sets cookies, we will update this page before or at the same time, and we will change the date at the top. Please check back if this matters to you.
